Nice trip,
our beloved father and grandfather,
It is with unspeakable pain that we say goodbye to Agamemnon Pitenis, our own hero and rare model of Man. Mr. Menio, pioneering businessman of the post-war era, excellent family man, founder of our family business 'Pitenis', our faithful friend and versatile travel companion.
It is with a broken heart that we say goodbye to you, that you will inspire us in every next step. You, that you never put down. A devoted father and grandfather, who with your restless and creative spirit wrote your own history in private business and in our country.
Charismatic, hard-working, selfless, unstoppable fighter, you earned the respect of all of us thanks to your shining example and your unwavering optimism. You had practical love for all members of your family, all the staff of your company, all your long-term partners. And you were always close to those in need.
You literally started from scratch. Self-made, you managed to hand over the business baton to your four sons, while handing over a better future to your grandchildren and younger generations, that you cared and respected so much.
Restless and creative spirit, you contributed like few others to connecting entrepreneurship with innovation. You had the honor of being awarded by many notable bodies for your great work and business activity, that exuded stubbornness, hard work and love for everything you did.
You breathed your last full days, but your insightful mind still had a lot to offer to our country, that is why your loss fills us with profound sadness.
We are proudly grateful for all that you have given us, so generously. You were tirelessly by our side, enriching our every effort. You were always there, in our every joy and every anguish.
Every moment you had to give a warm hug to your fellow man. This is also your greatest legacy.
The Greece of humanity and forethought mourns an unbearable loss.
God took you to Himself.
Our only consolation is that in Heaven you will be rewarded with your one and only love, our late and much loved Theodora Avarakis.
The pile will be located on the factory premises, at 5th km Kozani Nea Nikopolis, from 15:00pm, today is Saturday 07 October. The funeral service will take place tomorrow, Sunday 08 October, at 12:00pm, in the Holy Metropolitan Church of Agios Nikolaos, in the center of Kozani.
IMMORTAL!
A few words about his life…
Agamemnon Pitenis was a native of Kozani. Benjamin of a poor family, was born in 20 December 1936.
From the age of seven, little Menios helped in the coffee shop owned by his older brothers, carrying coffees to the neighborhood shops. When he reached the third year of high school, he went to the famous Trabantzeio boarding school-high school of Siatista as an introvert. He quickly distinguished himself for his performance in classical and team sports. Finishing sixth form high school, the stone years of post-military Greece did not give him the opportunity to enter the Gymnastics Academy, which was his great desire. After serving his military service, entered the business arena with vigor, establishing businesses either with his brother Konstantinos Pitenis or with third partners. He was included in these ventures already from 1953 the grocery store "Pitenis". Followed by the "Pitenis-Tsikritzis" nut business, the history of the city of Kozani coffee "El Greco", as well as the disco "Tiffani's".
The 1967 Agamemnon married the wife of his life Theodora Avarakis. The couple had four sons, Dimitrios, Nicholas, Andreas and Stylianos.
In the middle of 1972 Agamemnon turned a small warehouse in Kozani into a small workshop for the production of traditional salad. The 1973, after much experimentation, managed to create his own recipes. So, the 1975 decided on the establishment of the "Piteni" craft industry.
From 1975 until the 1988 he was also actively involved in the commons of his place.
The second generation of the family has been at the helm of the Pitenis company for three decades, establishing an international gourmet food industry, while from the 2021 its first member was also added st third generation in the company's potential.
The family's wish is, instead of wreaths, to collect an amount for the Gospel, 12 years old little girl, which is to operate in London!
