More from 700 business contacts were made by 29 Greek companies that participated in the largest food and beverage exhibition in Japan Foodex, following the initiative of the Exporters Association of Northern Greece with the support of OPE.
The companies that participated through SEVE in Foodex 2007 is: Almanda SA, Almi SA, Piteni Bros. SA, Haitoglou Bros. SA, Apivita AE, Astir Brand-Drakopoulos Zaharias, Hermes St.. Dimarakis SA, Latzimas SA, Νostimia AE, Nutria AE, Ouzo Tyrnavou-Katsaros Nikos, Panagialeios Union of Cooperatives-Aigio, Pepolac AE, Corinthian Raisin Cooperative ASE, Thinkgreen, Food technology, KETA of Central Macedonia through which the companies participated: Arvanitidis SA, Deas SA, Kronos SA, Busmalis SA, Parparas SA, Argo SA, Alexandros Ltd., Sera EΠΕ. KETA Epirus also participated, through which the companies participated: Papa Bros. SA, Konakis Konstantinos, Havelas, Monastery of Zitsa, Koutsoumba Brothers OE.
Foodex attracts every year more than 95.000 visitors (importers, wholesalers, distributors) and approx 2.300 exhibitors from 66 Countries. Through the innovative use of modern "showrooms", SEVE believes that it has given the opportunity to Greek companies to explore the Japanese market in an efficient way and at an affordable cost. Alongside, SEVE ensured for Greek exhibitors the support of Japanese importing businesses of Greek interests, both during the exhibition, as well as for the decisive role of the continuation of contacts after its end.
At the SEVE stand during the exhibition, Japanese chefs created flavors adapted to Japanese culinary culture with Greek products, an initiative that was accepted with particularly positive comments and which, combined with the central position of the stand, created a real influx of people.
All the representatives of the Greek companies declared themselves particularly satisfied with the excellent organization, the key point and innovative character of the stand, but also for the intense interest shown by many Japanese companies in Greek products.
The general director of KETA – of Central Macedonia. Γ. Kokkas said that the Japanese and other visitors showed great interest in the products of the companies participating through KETA, especially for compotes, the oil, the olives, cheeses and pickles. He estimates that some contacts will lead to collaborations.
From the Pappa Brothers OE company, Mr. Dimitris Pappas stated that despite his initial reservations about the Japanese market, he is very satisfied with the participation through SEVE and also with the results he had. "We expect this specific action to be repeated and we declare our interest in participation from now on", completed.

The contribution of SEVE, points out the management of the Association, it does not stop with the return of the shipment to Greece. The Association will continue to support the key role of continuing their engagement with Japanese businesses., but will also create a website in English and Japanese, with a presentation of the participating companies.
SEVE intends to investigate the implementation of similar innovative actions for the benefit of Greek export companies in other countries as well. It is noted that this action by SEVE was carried out in consultation with OPE, with the aim of better coordination of the two Greek missions, as well as OPE participated in Foodex by organizing a stand in the International Participations area, while the Link in the "Import" section.
